Fabrics I’ve collected so far.

• Kimono fabric remnants bought in Tokyo. It’s very common to find them from street vendors or tailor boutiques. I guess they must be hard to sew.
• A set of linen and liberty from the excellent Cottonfield shop. I want to go again  so much !
• Popeline and liberty from Entrée des Fournisseurs, a very nice shop in Paris.

Every time I see crafts material and fabrics, especially for liberty, I feel an urge to hoard like a dragon with its treasures. I’ve been doing that for a long time. When I was a little girl, I had a drawer where I could put anything I liked. My parents had to cleaning it up regularly since I collected everything, from candy wraps to toothpaste boxes (because the little elephant was too cute to throw away). 

Fabrics I got from the Marché Saint Pierre in Paris.

• Vinyl in flashy colors. Thought it would be inspiring. A mature elegant woman stopped and asked the shop assistant (a delightful old man - probably gay) what this kind of fabric was for. He answered “for underwear. It’s really convenient and easily cleaned with a simple rub.”
• Imitation leather, white ostrich and quilted black shiny leather.
• A beautiful blue poplin on sale (I should have bought more of this one)
• and a handful of liberty, to resplenish the stash.

My fabrics collection is starting to look decent :)
